St Margaret’s Hospice Open Gardens – Nether Compton.

On Saturday 12th June and Sunday 13th June 2021 three private gardens will be open to the public in Nether Compton on behalf of ST MARGARET'S HOSPICE, they are:

  • Stavordale House, Nether Compton DT9 4QA (Tim & Penny Chappell 01935 812922 - tim.chappell1@btinternet.com )
  • Stirling Cottage, Nether Compton DT9 4 PZ (Stuart & Mary Glasby - smglasby@btinternet.com )
  • Harts Cottage, Nether Compton DT9 4PZ (Liz and Gordon Aitken).

Stavordale House has a traditional rose garden fronting the road, a walled garden with climbing roses and clematis, water lily pond and arboretum including a 350 year old boundary oak.

Stirling Cottage is surrounded a pretty cottage garden with roses, herbaceous beds and stream, and an upper garden with specimen trees, fruit cage and vegetable beds.

Harts Cottage first impression is of a sweeping lawn, good for exhausting grandchildren! Surrounding beds are mainly mixed planting with colour themes but have accidentals to keep us guessing.

All gardens have spectacular views - refreshments at Stavordale House, with plant sales at Stirling Cottage.
