Plumber is very much a family home far from the madding crowd where guests can enjoy the genuine hospitality from a bygone era.

In the main house there are six very comfortable bedrooms all with private bathrooms facing south and west, they are approached from a charming gallery hung with family portraits.

In 1982 a natural stone barn lying within the grounds was converted adding a further six very large bedrooms all with window seats overlooking the stream and garden.  In 1990 the courtyard was completed giving four more spacious individually furnished bedrooms.

We have a few bedrooms in the stable courtyard which welcome guests' dogs.  The restaurant remains the mainstay of the business,

Brian Prideaux- Brune's cooking long since recognised by all the major guides provides a balance of imaginative and traditional cuisine using the finest of fresh ingredients and is well supported by an extensive wine list.   The restaurant is in three rooms where guests may dine in an informal yet elegant ambience, private parties especially catered for.

Although we realise that most of our guests come to stay with us at Plumber to 'get away from it all and relax, there are some of you who would be interested in exploring Dorset.  We have a leaflet with many suggestions so please do ask  for a copy.  We have a new hard tennis court (and a few racquets and balls) as well as a croquet lawn. Dorset lends itself to walkers and we have several maps of local walks around Plumber Manor.

Wedding Receptions

We can accommodate up to 75 people in the hotel with a buffet or a marquee for more than 75.  In both cases we would require you to take all the rooms in the hotel for one night and at least half for the second night.  Please telephone for further enquiries.
